About Us
Club Information
The Ducati Owners Club of New South Wales was founded in 1976 by a small group of Ducati owners interested in sharing the passion of their Italian motorcycles with others. Today it has grown to around 400 members who now share that same passion. The Club provides members with a source of information about their bikes, a place to meet like-minded people and enables Ducati owners to continue with their interest in the marque. The aims of the Club are to promote and encourage motorcycling with kindred bodies in fostering and maintaining motorcycling as a sport. We also encourage and conduct many social outings, competitions and to encourage good fellowship amongst the members and to maintain the prestige of the Ducati Owners Club of New South Wales Inc.
The New South Wales club is just one of eight Ducati Owners Clubs now operating in various locations throughout Australia. Our club is also an affiliated member of the Ducati Desmo Owners Club which is a world wide club representing the world’s many Ducati Owners Clubs.
Some of our Club activities include: social outings, regular rides (which range from local half day and full day rides), an Annual Christmas party, The Annual Thunder Rally, maintenance days, BBQs, the Concours d’Elegance (in conjunction with the Motori d’Italia), to summer afternoon twilight rides and weekends away at various destinations. Many of our members attend the Ducati Turismo which is an annual event organised by NF Importers Pty Ltd to bring together all Australian Ducati Owners Clubs. This well organised week long event is attended by 250 to 300 Ducati riders and is held in a different location in Australia each year riding on beautiful scenic and exciting motorcycling roads. The Turismo’s grand finalé is the gala Turismo dinner. The National Ducati Rally is another annual event which is hosted by a different Australian Ducati Owners Clubs in their own state and attracts around 250 Ducati riders each year.
The Club publishes a quarterly newsletter, “Moto Duca”, available to all members of the Club with lots of information on all club activities, classifieds, ride reports and plenty of articles of interest to Ducati owners.
The Club is affiliated with Motorcycling Australia which allows members to obtain a racing licence. Other benefits include assistance with spare parts, technical restoration information and access to the Club’s extensive archives. The club has representatives at the Motorcycle Council of New South Wales (MCC) meetings. Many businesses show their support for the Club by offering our members substantial discounts. Our most notable supporters are NFImporters (DUCATI SYDNEY), Gowanloch Ducati, MCA, MAW and several insurance companies.
